5 Tips for a Healthier and Happier Life

In today’s hectic world, it’s all too easy to fall into bad, unhealthy habits.

Before you know it, one thing has led to another and you’re living a life far from your ideal. If you’re ready to make some changes and make a turn towards a healthier you, the good news is it doesn’t take drastic actions.

Several smaller steps can add up to a big lifestyle change for the better.

Control Your Meal Sizes

While eating healthier meals is an obvious way to improve your overall health, a simpler way is to reduce your portions when eating. Invest in smaller plates if you only have large dinner plates, because there is a natural urge to fill your plate.

Take time to put the rest of your food away before eating when you finish cooking, as having the food out makes you more likely to get seconds. With these simple changes, you can lower your calorie intake without changing the meals you eat.

Drink More Water

Although there are a lot of myths about the specifics of how much water you need to drink, at their core is a kernel of truth — proper hydration is important. A simple metric is if you’re thirsty, then drink.

Staying hydrated is good for your health, and replacing sugary drinks at a meal with a glass of water can significantly improve the healthiness of your diet.

Get More Rest

Not every change for the better has to involve cutting back on things that are enjoyable. If you’re not getting a full night’s sleep you likely wake up wishing you had more time in bed, and the good news is you can justify it as a healthy choice.

Cutting your sleep short has negative effects that ripple throughout your general health, so you should strive to get to bed at an hour where your body can wake up naturally every day.

Exercise in Style

One surprisingly simple way to make it easier to get in shape is to invest in some comfortable workout clothes. While what you’re wearing may not change how much you can lift or how far you can run, when you feel good you can perform better.

With athleisure lines, you get clothes that are a blend of style and substance so you can love the way you look while you’re putting in work.

Get Outside More

Fresh air is good for your health, but all too many people get minimal time to go outside in an average week. Little changes, like adding in a walk to your lunch or planning a trip to the park on the weekend, allow you to increase the time you spend outside and help you benefit from increased exposure to fresh air and sunshine.
